The Art in Renaissance Venice (1400-1515) has just opened at the MET this past week. Explore over 50 paintings and drawings by preeminent artists active in Venice from he late 14th to early 16th century. The art illustrates the transition from the Venetian Gothic style of the early 15th century to mid-century, when artists began responding to Renaissance vocabulary of Florence. These sacred pieces are on display until February 5, 2012.
